Between Worlds
The Inner Cosmos Series
Overview
Between Worlds explores the quiet space where transformation unfolds. Rather than focusing on beginnings or endings, the artwork reflects the often-overlooked interval between them, the place where identities evolve, beliefs shift, relationships change, and new possibilities slowly emerge.
Visual Narrative
The composition is divided into two expansive fields of muted colour connected by a soft diagonal transition. Neither side dominates the other. Instead, the meeting point between them becomes the true focus of the work.
The lighter upper field suggests openness, clarity, and the familiar, while the deeper lower field evokes reflection, change, and renewal. Between these two spaces, the layered diagonal passage forms a quiet threshold that belongs fully to neither side.
This gentle transition creates a sense of movement without direction. Rather than leading toward a destination, it invites the viewer to remain within the process of becoming, where one reality gradually dissolves into another.
Philosophy
When I created Between Worlds, I wanted to explore the quiet spaces where real transformation takes place.
Life is rarely defined by clear beginnings or decisive endings. Most of our lives unfold between them, between certainty and uncertainty, holding on and letting go, who we were and who we are becoming.
These moments often feel uncomfortable because they belong to neither the past nor the future. Yet they are where growth quietly happens.
The soft transition between the two fields represents these invisible thresholds. Nothing changes suddenly. One experience gently gives way to another, allowing new understanding to emerge without forcing resolution.
To me, transformation is not a single event but a continuous passage. The work invites us to trust the unknown space between what has ended and what has yet to begin.
Neuroaesthetic Approach
Broad fields of muted colour and generous negative space create a calm and spacious visual experience. The eye naturally follows the soft diagonal transition, encouraging slow observation rather than immediate resolution.
Warm cream tones evoke openness and psychological comfort, while muted earthy blues and greens introduce stability, reflection, and renewal. Their gentle contrast creates balance without visual tension, allowing the mind to remain relaxed while exploring the subtle relationship between the two worlds.
The absence of dominant focal points reduces cognitive demand and encourages contemplation, making the transition itself the primary visual experience.
Artistic Approach
Using minimalist abstraction, soft colour relationships, and restrained geometry, the artwork transforms the idea of transition into a universal visual language. Rather than illustrating change directly, it expresses transformation through proportion, colour, and the quiet meeting of two expansive spaces.
Interior Aesthetic
Its calm palette and minimalist composition complement contemporary, Scandinavian, Japandi, modern, and biophilic interiors. The artwork brings quiet sophistication and reflective depth to living rooms, bedrooms, studios, offices, and contemplative spaces.
