Overview
 
Continuum explores continuity within a fragmented geometric environment through coloured modules, fine horizontal lines, repeated bands, and open space. Although the composition is divided into distinct areas, recurring colours, alignments, and linear structures create the impression of a single visual system extending across the field.
 
Project Description
 
The central idea of Continuum is the relationship between connection and separation. The upper geometric field contains distinct forms linked visually through fine horizontal lines, while the lower bands extend selected colours and rhythms into the surrounding space. The work suggests that continuity does not necessarily require physical connection, but can emerge through rhythm, alignment, repetition, colour, and spatial relationships.
 
Visual Narrative
 
The eye first enters the concentrated upper geometric structure, moving across the coloured modules and repeated horizontal lines before travelling through the open field toward the lower bands. This creates a visual sequence of concentration → continuation → separation → continuation, gradually revealing that the apparent gaps are part of the overall structure.
 
Neuroaesthetic Approach
 
The artwork combines geometric order, repetition, alignment, colour relationships, and negative space to create a structured visual experience. Repeated horizontal lines provide predictability and guide the eye across the composition, while variations in colour, scale, and spacing introduce controlled visual interest. The open field provides breathing space and prevents the geometric elements from becoming visually overwhelming.
 
Artistic Approach
Continuum is developed through a digital art practice based on Field Modularism, using rectangular modules, horizontal lines, colour fields, and negative space as essential elements. Precise control of proportion, spacing, alignment, and colour allows separate forms to remain visually connected while preserving their individual identities within the larger composition.
