Held in Balance – Garden
Healing Series
Overview
Held in Balance – Garden explores a quiet state of balance found within a natural environment. Through organic forms, layered colour, and measured spacing, the artwork creates a feeling of calm, growth, and grounded presence.
Project Description
A garden is a space where different forms can exist together without needing to become the same. Plants grow at different heights, colours interact, and spaces between them allow each element to breathe.
Held in Balance – Garden translates this feeling into minimalist abstraction. The composition brings together organic forms and structured elements to create a visual environment where movement and stillness coexist.
The artwork reflects the quiet balance found in nature, not as perfect symmetry, but as a relationship between different forms, colours, and spaces.
As part of the Healing Series, Held in Balance – Garden brings a sense of natural calm and visual grounding into contemporary spaces.
Visual Narrative
The composition uses vertically arranged organic forms that appear to grow, overlap, and settle within the surrounding space. Their differences in size, shape, and position create a natural rhythm rather than rigid symmetry.
The central forms provide visual weight, while surrounding negative space allows the composition to remain open and breathable. Subtle horizontal elements introduce a grounding layer beneath the organic shapes, suggesting a quiet connection between growth and stability.
The forms appear held within the composition rather than confined by it, creating a feeling of gentle containment and natural balance.
Neuroaesthetic Approach
Rounded organic forms create a softer visual experience, while the measured arrangement provides enough structure for the eye to navigate comfortably. Generous negative space reduces visual density and allows attention to move gradually between individual elements.
Natural green and warm earth-inspired tones create visual softness, while darker elements provide grounding and contrast. The balance between organic shapes and simple horizontal structures creates gentle visual rhythm without excessive complexity.
Artistic Approach
Using contemporary minimalist abstraction, Held in Balance – Garden transforms the visual qualities of a garden into a simplified language of form, colour, space, and rhythm.
Rather than depicting plants or a literal garden, the artwork captures the feeling of being surrounded by natural growth, quiet, balanced, layered, and continuously changing.
Interior Aesthetic
Its organic forms and natural palette complement contemporary, minimalist, Scandinavian, Japandi, biophilic, and wellness-inspired interiors. The artwork brings a soft connection to nature into living rooms, bedrooms, meditation spaces, studios, reading areas, and calm personal interiors.
