Nexum
Style - Field Modularism
Overview
Nexum explores the relationship between connected geometric modules within an open visual field. Concentrated colour structures, linear elements, and smaller separated forms create a system where distance does not eliminate connection. The work considers how independent forms can remain part of a larger visual whole through rhythm, alignment, colour, and spatial relationships.
Project Description
The central idea of Nexum is connection without contact. Individual modules remain visually independent, yet their alignment, colour, scale, and positioning suggest an underlying system connecting them. The work proposes that relationships can exist across space without requiring physical continuity.
Visual Narrative
The eye moves from the concentrated upper structure toward the smaller modules dispersed across the open field. As recurring colours, alignments, and directional relationships become apparent, separated elements begin to read as parts of one larger system. The visual sequence becomes concentration , distance , connection , system.
Field Modularism
Within Field Modularism, geometric modules are arranged across an open field to create relationships between form, colour, rhythm, proportion, and space. In Nexum, separation becomes an active compositional tool: independent modules are connected perceptually through repeated visual characteristics rather than physical contact.
Neuroaesthetic Approach
The artwork combines geometric order, repetition, colour relationships, alignment, and negative space to create a structured perceptual experience. The concentrated upper field establishes an initial visual anchor, while separated modules encourage gradual exploration across the open space. Repetition provides familiarity, while spatial gaps introduce measured visual curiosity.
Artistic Approach
Nexum is developed through a digital art practice based on Field Modularism, using geometric modules, colour fields, linear elements, and negative space as structural components. Precise control of proportion, spacing, alignment, scale, and colour allows independent forms to operate as interconnected parts of a larger visual system.
