Occlusion explores how light and space are transformed when forms partially conceal one another. Inspired by the visual phenomenon of occlusion, where one object blocks another from view, the artwork investigates how overlapping geometry creates depth, structure, and quiet spatial tension.
 
Project Description
 
Space is not defined only by what we see, but also by what remains hidden. As forms overlap, light is interrupted, revealing new relationships between visibility, shadow, and depth.
Occlusion transforms this architectural principle into minimalist abstraction. Layered geometric planes overlap without fully revealing their boundaries, creating a composition where concealment becomes an essential part of perception. Rather than relying on traditional perspective, depth emerges through overlap, contrast, and carefully balanced proportions.

Visual Narrative
 
Large geometric planes intersect at varying angles, allowing forms to disappear behind one another before gradually re-emerging elsewhere in the composition. Layered rectangular structures establish a strong architectural framework, while diagonal divisions introduce movement and visual rhythm.
Warm ochre, muted lavender, earthy brown, and deep charcoal create a refined balance between illuminated and shaded surfaces. The framed geometry acts as a visual anchor, while overlapping forms continuously shift the viewer's perception of depth and space.
